			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align:justify;">After going thorough all the your assignments, I have tabulated the <strong>un-moderated</strong> scores for all the marked assignments as illustrated in Figure 2-0. The overall performance of candidates in terms of grades, apart from a small percentage (4.8%) achieving a high-distinction (HD), majority of the candidates achieved grade ‘B’ being 43.5% and ‘A’ being 24.2%. Cumulatively, 91.9% candidates passed their assignment 1, while five (5) candidates were unable to get through with a ‘Fail (F)’ grade.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">The assignment calls for specific items to be examine and most of the candidate did fairly well in task 2.1 (attitude &amp; perceptions), task 2.3 (Group Dynamics) and task 3 (Recommendations). Task 2.2 (Motivation) is where most of you mange to scrape through. However, everyone of you need to seriously improve on your <strong>Critical Analysis, Comprehensiveness, Interpretation &amp; Application of Theories, Research Effort (RESH) and your academic writing capability</strong>. The terminologies are described in the assignment marking criteria in the module introductory guidebook. Please remember that, this is a <span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>must</strong></span> for postgraduate level of studies.</p>

<p>In view of the high number of students attending this module, the initial two groups of A and B has been split further. Those in <strong>Group A are intact </strong>while those in Group B has been broken into <strong>Group B</strong> and <strong>Group B1</strong>. Note: Only GROUP B!. Of course, there were some of you that favours switching group sessions for your own conveniences, but at the end of the day, please remember your own grouping to avoid messing up your own module discussion. The class schedule for Group A, Group B and Group B1 has been circulated to everyone of you.. and my advise is to stick to your group schedule. Module discussions for MGT 5000 this semester is illustrated below, note your grouping!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="null"><img class="alignleft" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3095/3149519947_1457e62188_t.jpg" alt="" width="70" height="100" /></a>Firstly, I would like to take the opportunity to wish every one of you a prosperous and a happy new year. It is my hope that you have reflected on your 2008 achievements and planned ahead for your 2009 resolutions. This New Year message is not meant to criticise anyone but merely to share few of my observations that I have noticed with candidates attending this module. I hope you will read it with an open-mind and take it upon yourself to reflect your situation in achieving your goals.</p>
<ol>
<li>Please remember that you are attending a <strong>part-time distance learning <span style="color:#ff0000;">POSTGRADUATE</span> program</strong>. Meaning to say, the traditional way of learning such as discussing case studies over a full semester like those in a full time program will not happen. The <span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>ONUS</strong> is on <span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>YOU</strong></span></span> to comprehend and articulate the necessary theories and make the necessary inferences through action-learning.</li>
<li>There are those amongst you who made public statements that the lectures and lecture notes are not much of help in preparing your assignments, <strong>despite the availability of sample assignments and on-line forums</strong>; whilst some kept requesting for more notes on the subject discussed. This indirectly indicate that, there are still candidates who expect to be spoon-fed on every aspect of the learning. Please bear in mind that attending a part time distance learning <span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>postgraduate</strong></span> program can be challenging. You are expected to conduct your own research on the relevant theories, and creatively and critically make the necessary inferences as to the relevance and appropriateness to the assignments and your learning. There is need to <strong>shift your paradigm from waiting to be told, to preparing for the learning</strong>.  <span style="color:#ff0000;">SUCCESS FAVOURS THE PREPARED MIND!</span></li>
<li>There are also those who were not prepared to <strong>embrace the on-line learning</strong>. I have observed that some of you posting issues, concerns and queries without giving much thought and or search. Seeking through the frequently asked questions (FAQ) should be done first, and browsing through the discussion threads can also help! Should you could not find issues, concerns or queries after doing such activities, then post. You might not know that there are others who are experiencing the similar situations.</li>
<li>I have also noted that <strong>majority of you are well prepared for your learning</strong>. Despite your busy professional and personal schedules and commitments, you are able to find the balance. <strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">KUDOS to every one of you!</span></strong> May be you could share your experiences with your fellow classmates who were having difficulties in managing their time and priorities. Be kind and remember that <strong>knowledge and experiences&#8217; sharing</strong> is a great way to improve and enhance your own learning.</li>
</ol>
